L’ETO Knightsbridge Review: Great Steak, Shakes, and Cakes

SUNSHINE, STEAK, AND SWEET TREATS

By Tanya Howard | Founder, The Live Review London · @glamglitzlondon

Who else is absolutely living for the sunshine and being about to eat and drink outdoors again. Bonus points when it’s somewhere as cute and vibey as L’ETO in Knightsbridge. The outdoor terrace is a prime people-watching location FYI, and one thing I immediately loved: the QR code menus. Game changer! It takes you to a visual menu, which honestly every restaurant needs! Half the time I’m on Instagram stalk the food, so just let me see everything.

I went early afternoon and went for the Steak and Eggs, served on a giant hash brown base. The steak was cooked exactly as I requested (medium-well gang, don’t come for me), and the eggs? Picture the perfect yolk run when you cut into it… chef’s kiss. It usually comes with bearnaise sauce, but I passed on that and didn’t feel like I missed out.

To drink, I went full throwback and ordered a Strawberry Milkshake, and let me tell you, it delivered. Creamy, refreshing, topped with whipped cream and chopped strawberries. So refreshing! You’re definitely getting an Insta-worthy moment with that one. Speaking of visuals, the cake display in the window is actual dessert heaven. Think great lighting, layered cakes, glossy glazes. It was giving main character choosing a treat energy.

I chose the Toffee Caramel Cake, a multi-layered caramel sponge with smooth toffee cream and a Dulce de Leche glaze. And yes, it was as rich and sweet as it sounds. Took me a while to finish (needed a mid-cake break) but was worth every bite. I did consider skipping the cake but L’ETO gives real “treat yourself” energy.

The staff were lovely and really made the whole experience feel relaxed and I was well looked after. I would definitely go back, whether for a girly catch-up, solo cake outing, or even a date. It’s indulgent without being intimidating, polished but welcoming. And next time? I’ve got my eye on the Chocolate Fudge Cake. Or maybe the honey cake… Ok, I’ll just have to come back more than once.

This spring and summer, you can enjoy an upscale cafe experience alfresco style at L’ETO Knightsbridge, Mayfair, and Notting Hill.
