Mezcalito Brompton Cocktail Bar And Club Review
MY SIGN OF WHETHER I LIKE A PLACE OR NOT IS THE QUESTION I ASK MYSELF AT THE END: WOULD I RETURN?

After visiting the new branch of Mezcalito in South Kensington’s Old Brompton Road, I am absolutely itching to go back. If it wasn’t from the friendly greeting as soon as I walked in, it was the stylish decor, and wanting to inhale everything on the menu.
Tucked away South Kensington, Mezcalito is a Mexican restaurant, cocktail bar and club open Tuesday to Sunday for us party goers and night owls across the city.
THE DRINKS
Looking through the drinks menu will have you wanting to order one of each. Not only that, with over 500 tequila and mezcal choices, Mezcalito has the largest hoard of the spirits in Europe. I didn’t know the difference between tequila or mezcal and the bartender kindly offer me a try of each before I ordered my cocktail (you may want to eat something afterwards as tequila on an empty stomach isn’t wise). I opted for the mezcal in my cocktail (I chose a Paloma), which was smoother, smokier and had a subtle toast.
My Paloma tasted incredible, it was sweet without being sour and deliciously refreshing. If I wasn’t careful, I could be drinking it all night!
THE FOOD
With my cocktails tasting so good, I knew the food would be too. It was so difficult not to order everything; I decided to go for what the bartender recommended as I knew I couldn’t go wrong. Best of all, as I am lactose intolerant, there were no issues with removing cheese from my order (better safe than on the loo 😭).
The food menu has everything you could want to try and I’d recommend getting 2 or 3 starters, 2 mains to share and the churros to finish. Once my guest arrived, we didn’t wait too long for our food to arrive (always a good sign).
We went for the guacamole, which was fresh, light and worked well with the plain nachos. The guac is made fresh every single day so you need not worry about it tasting off! For our starters, we went for the Chicharrones which are crispy, deep fried pork belly chunks with salsa verde. These were SO good and with every bite I was transported to my travels to Mexico.
For our mains we went for tacos (a true and authentic Mexican staple) and we both inhaled them shortly after they were placed on the table.
THE CLUB
For those wanting a night on the tiles, don’t leave just yet. There is a nightclub downstairs which can hold up to 40 or more of your closest friends. For those wanting to visit on date night, a tinder date night, or just a mate date, Mezcalito Brompton is the place to be.
