Head First Acrobats: GODZ Review – Peacock Theatre
ANCIENT GREEK CHAOS, ACROBATIC HUNKS, AND THE FUNNIEST DAMN SHOW IN LONDON RIGHT NOW

TLDR: This is a gushing review by a Queer Witchy Cat Aunty. If you can’t be bothered to read it all, just save time and buy a ticket for GODZ. You’re welcome.
Breathes… Right, let’s jump in, shall we?
Some shows feel so perfectly me that I’m convinced I’ve manifested them into existence—and GODz is absolutely one of them.
The show promised *“a hedonistic dive head-first into the lives of the ancient Gods of Mount Olympus, painting the scene of Ancient Greece and bringing you to the biggest party to hit Mount Olympus since 500 BCE.”*
And oh, sweet Dionysus, they delivered.
Bawdy humour, silly absurdity, and acrobatics so sharp they could cut through Zeus’s ego—GODz is an unapologetically chaotic, glitter-drenched orgy of talent (and ok, fine, a little partial nudity—more on that in a sec).
As the West End debut of Aussie troupe Head First Acrobats, I can confidently say they’ve done ‘Stralia proud. I would’ve happily turned right around and watched it all over again—that’s how much fun this was.
Now, dear reader, about the nudity—yes, there are perky cheeks on display (you’re welcome, thirsty gremlins). And if that’s all you needed to hear before frantically Googling tickets, I salute you. But let me be clear: this isn’t just a thirst trap. These performers are next-level talented—world-class acrobats, physical comedians, and mime artists who had the audience in stitches. The audience interaction was gold, and the finale with Hercules and the Nuns? I ASCENDED. I’m still giggling about it like a tipsy oracle the next morning. If they decide to set up a cult, I’m in.
DROP EVERYTHING AND SEE GODZ – THE FUNNIEST, MOST UNHINGED NIGHT OUT IN LONDON
And the statue skit? Rewired my brain chemistry. I cackled like the unhinged hag I am, and I regret nothing. The woman I sat next to nearly had me wheeling her out the fire exit as she was laughing so hard (She’s fine before you panic, just had to do a wee bit of a calm down, have a swing of her wine and she was grand).
This is harmless, bawdy fun—a cheeky (in every sense) blend of circus, clowning, and Olympian-level acrobatics performed by ridiculously skilled (and, yes, very easy on the eyes) gentlemen in varying states of undress. What’s not to love?
Rarely do I leave a show thinking, “I could watch that again right now,” but GODz had me hooked. And when I try to think of someone who wouldn’t enjoy this? I draw a blank. Even my most stubbornly hetero “lads lads lads” mates would be howling with laughter and slack-jawed at the sheer skill on display. The cast’s self-aware, inclusive energy makes sure everyone in the audience is invited to the party.
GODZ is running at Peacock Theatre until Saturday 14 June before going to Wynnum Fringe.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars. Run, trapeze, fly—I don’t care how you get there, just grab a ticket and surrender to 75 minutes of pure, unadulterated FUN.
