Rosa’s Thai has long been a go to for those craving bold, authentic Thai flavours, and this January, they’re turning up the heat… literally! If you’re looking for a delicious antidote to the winter blues, Rosa’s Thai offers an irresistible combination of comforting dishes, vibrant cocktails, and a special treat for spice lovers.

BEAT THE HEAT WITH AN EXCLUSIVE JANUARY OFFER

Until 16 February, anyone brave enough to order one of Rosa’s iconic three chilli dishes will receive a complimentary Thai iced drink to cool things down. Choose from their fiery Green Curry, punchy Drunken Noodles, flavour packed Pad Kra Pa, or refreshing Papaya Salad, and pair it with your choice of Thai Iced Tea, Lemongrass & Pandan Iced Team, or Nam Manao (Thai Lemonade). It’s the perfect way to spice up your January.

WHAT WE ORDERED

  • Classic Platter: Thai Fried Chicken (TFC), Veggie Spring Rolls, Grilled Pork Skewers, Thai Calamari, and Prawn Crackers. Served with sweet chilli sauce, tamarind dip, and peanut sauce.
  • ‘Tod Mun Goong’ Prawn Doughnuts: Crispy prawn cakes mixed with egg, coriander, and garlic, coated in panko breadcrumbs, served with sticky plum sauce.
  • ‘Gaeng Kiew Wan’ Green Curry: Thailand’s iconic spicy green curry, creamy and aromatic, made with Rosa’s own curry paste.
  • Steamed Jasmine Rice
  • Prawn Crackers

Oh. My. Goodness! We started with the Classic Platter, and we both said straight away that we would go back just for this platter! The standout from the selection? The Thai Calamari, seasoned with Tom Yum spices, unreal! Next time, I’ll be ordering an extra portion on the side just for me. The Pork Skewers marinated in honey and soy, were tender, juicy, and paired beautifully with the tamarind dip. Actually… I’ll need another portion of those next time too (my table is going to look like a buffet setup).

The TFC wings were nice, well-seasoned, and crispy, though not particularly standout. Veggie spring rolls? Not my thing, but my friend Char was more than happy to take them off my hands. As and for the Prawn Crackers, they are dangerously moreish. So much so, we ordered an extra portion to accompany our green curry. I didn’t know what to expect from the Prawn Doughnuts, but I can’t not order prawns when I see them on the menu. They were a pleasant surprise, light, crispy, a rich prawn flavour but not overpowering.

And finally, the main event, the three chilli green curry. We decided to share the dish, opting for chicken, with jasmine rice and crackers on the side. Thank goodness we shared because damn, that dish packed some serious heat! If you’ve got a high spice tolerance, you’ll probably adore it, but us wusses had a challenge on our hands! The flavours were incredible, with a great balance of creamy, fragrant, and spicy, but don’t say I didn’t warn you about the heat!

LET’S TALK DRINKS

  • Lychee Ginger Spritz: A zingy, tropical cocktail with hints of lychee and coconut. Perfect if your’e looking for something light and fun.
  • Dragon Star Martini: Rosa’s take on a Pornstar Martini, with passionfruit, dragon fruit, and a shot of Prosecco on the side. Whilst I admire the creativity, this one wasn’t for me, but it’s always fun to try something different.
  • Nam Manao: Homemade Thai lemonade. Sweet, refreshing, and just the thing to the edge off the curry’s spice. I’m not normally one for flat lemonade but this was a winner for me. And best of all… It was free with the green curry!

From bold flavours to creative cocktails, Rosa’s Thai has mastered the balance between comfort food and indulgence. The best part? It’s super affordable, so you can treat yourself without breaking the bank. Remember if you’re up for the challenge of trying one of their three chilli dished, you’ll get a free iced drink to go with it. But make sure to visit before 16 February when the offer ends. Whether you’re a spice lover or simply a fan of delicious Thai food, Rosa’s Thai has got you covered. Who’s joining me for my next visit?
