Jet2 is bringing the flavours of Europe a little closer to home with its newest base at Luton Airport. And what better way to celebrate than with a London food tour inspired by some of their exciting destinations! Hosted by Tom from The Chubby Fellows, we ate our way through Soho, tasting Spanish, Greek, Italian, Turkish, Portuguese, and Scottish treats. Each bite is a delicious nod to where Jet2 can now take you from Luton.

SPAIN: JAMON JAMON

Our first stop was Jamon Jamon for a taste of Spain. We tucked into the classic Spanish Omelette, which admission time, was my first time trying it. Why did no one tell me how good they are?! We also had Padron Peppers, although I didn’t try them as those who know me know I’m not a greenery girlie. And finally, we had Tiger Prawns in olive oil with garlic and red chilli. I live for prawns and could have easily eaten a few portions to myself. Strong start!

GREECE: SUVLAKI

Next on our tour was Suvlaki for a taste of Greece. We have Corn fed chicken wraps with baby gem lettuce, tomato, and mustard mayonnaise. The chicken was nicely cooked, and it was packed full of flavour. But here’s a tip, if you go, grab a seat inside! We ate them outside, and let me tell you, this is a messy one. Delicious, but not one for those who like to stay pristine while eating.

ITALY: LINA STORES

For our Italian stop, we headed to Lina Stores, where we sampled Umbria cheese, a new one for me. We also had Proscuitto di Parma, which I absolutely loved! I do enjoy an antipasto mix up. The quality of ingredients at Lina Stores is top-notch, and it was a nice balance of something familiar (hello, prosciutto) and something new. They recently opened a new one in Shoreditch and it’s great for a classic Carbonara.A woven basket with hemp bags that say Lina Store for 'London Four Tour Through Jet2's New Luton Destinations' post on The Live Review

TURKEY: THE TURKISH DELI & JUMI

For our Turkish stop, we were treated to a unique pairing: Cranberry Turkish Delight and Schlossberger Swiss Cheese. I’ll admit, I wouldn’t have thought to put these two together. I’m not a fan of Turkish Delight personally, so I was led by the others on this one. I imagine the sweet, chewy texture of the Turkish Delight would balance out the rich, nutty notes of the cheese. A little bit of sweet, a little bit of savoury, it got mixed reviews from the group.

SCOTLAND: WILLIAM CURLEY

Scotland may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of chocolate, but William Curley proves it absolutely should be. William Curley is a master chocolatier and was the final stop on our London food tour. We got to sample some of his handcrafted chocolates and truffle-infused treats. If you’re a chocoholic, this is the kind of place you could lose track of time (and money). Definitely one to revisit.

PORTUGAL: CAFÉ DE NATA

Yes, you guessed it, the Portugal stop was for a Pastel de Nata. The pastry was golden and flaky, and the custard had that signature caramelised top. My only issue? I always find them a bit rich to finish in one go. By the time I’m a third of the way in, I hit the ‘too much’ wall. What I need is someone to invent a miniature version… does that exist already?

From Spanish tapas to Scottish truffles, the London food tour was a whirlwind journey through some of Jet2’s exciting new destinations from Luton. Whether you’re a frequent flyer or just a foodie looking for inspiration, this was a fun reminder that London is full of incredible international bites. And if this is just a preview of where Jet2 can take you, I’d say book your flight and eat your way around the real deal.
