We opted for the Chicken and Champagne, and the Martini and Fries, which at £40 for the two is a total bargain for The Shard. The chicken was moist, tender, and coated in a gorgeous honey, lime, and chilli glaze. There was loads of sauce in the basket (thank you Oblix gods!), and we shamelessly dipped our fries into it. Not that they needed the extra sauce but when the glaze is that good, why waste it.

Now, confession time: I never saw myself as a martini person. I was your basic Pornstar Martini at brunch girl. But Oblix East well and truly opened my eyes to the martini world. We were able to try multiple flavours from the martini list, and here’s our thoughts on them:

  • Smoky Martinez: This is for the sophisticated, martini aficionados. It’s giving client meeting, looking like the boss vibes, slow sips to savour and keep indulgence in check.
  • Yuzu & Pencha Gimlet: Lemon, zesty, dangerously drinkable. Packs a citrus punch which means you’ll barely notice the alcohol!
  • Apple & Cinnamon Martini: The perfect balance of bitter and sweet. The apple shines through, with the cinnamon adding a subtle warmth. Even if you miss the cinnamon, you’ll still love it.
  • Blueberry Martini: A fruity delight that screams girls night out. It’s flirty, fun, and almost too easy to drink! Ideal for giggling with your girlies or letting your hair down on a cheeky date night.

The Oblix East Happy Hour is where sophistication meets fun, giving the perfect mix of laidback luxury. And at these prices, in this iconic location, it’s almost criminal not to check it out. So, grab your girls, your date, or even your boss, and elevate your happy hour game. Literally!
