If you’re a returning reader, you may recall my previous review of the Slug and Lettuce Bottomless Brunch offering. At £30 and the menu choices I ranked it as the best value for money brunch. However, times change, as do prices, and in June Slug and Lettuce increased the price to £35. But with the increase came a complete menu revamp. It’s always interesting to see how restaurants evolve their offerings to keep things exciting and enticing. So, on behalf of brunch enthusiasts everywhere I had to try out the new menu. WHAT WE ORDERED

Let’s start with food shall we because the revamped menu at Slug and Lettuce is a feast for the senses. Whether you’re a sweet or savoury brunch fan, there’s something here to please your palate. There are the classic options like the House Breakfast, Plant-Based Breakfast, or Avocado on Focaccia Toast. Twists on the traditional options, like instead of Eggs Benedict you’ve got Waffle Eggs. Two poached eggs on a toasted waffle with Rubies in the Rubble tomato relish, hollandaise sauce, and rocket. And some unique offerings like Berry Pancake Tacos, with vanilla cheesecake mousse, cherry compote, amaretto flavour syrup, and crushed raspberries.

I chose the Buttermilk Chicken Burger, with The Jolly Hog streaky bacon, chilli jam, Monterey Jack cheese, and cheese sauce. The crispy chicken served in a soft bun with the fresh toppings was a perfect blend of textures and flavours. My friend Ameera went for the Doughnut & Waffle Stack, with Jude’s Caramel Cookie Dough Brownie ice cream, salted caramel sauce, marshmallows, vanilla cheesecake mousse and an Oreo biscuit. She said the combination of warm, fluffy waffles and sweet, glazed doughnuts was heavenly.

With many brunch offerings you’ll find that the deal is only for 90 minutes and includes limited options of drinks. But for £35 person, you get two hours of unlimited drinks. And you can’t deny that the Slug and Lettuce bottomless brunch has an amazing variety of drinks on offer. Start with a glass of Prosecco, the brunch classic, or an Amstel beer for those who prefer a cold brew. Or keep it simple with a spirit and mixer, choosing between gin, vodka, or rum.

If you’re feeling more adventurous though, you have a selection of cocktails to choose from. Add a tropical twist with Sex on the Beach or Woo Woo. Or keep it classic with a Mimosa or Bloody Mary. For an additional £10 you can upgrade to a wider selection of cocktails. This includes the Pornstar Martini, Espresso Martini, and S&L Sangria, but everyone in your party must upgrade to the offer.

Slug and Lettuce have truly outdone themselves with their new bottomless brunch offering. With the wide selection of unlimited drinks and the new menu, there is something for everyone here. Whether you’re new or returning to the Slug and Lettuce brunch experience, the new menu is sure to impress. I’ve been back multiple times since the new menu came into effect and I’ve taken multiple friends with me. With a range of dietary requirements in our group, including vegan and allergies, everyone found a dish to try. So, gather your friends and make the good times truly bottomless!
