NOTHING DELIGHTS ME MORE THAN TRYING FOOD I CAN’T MAKE MYSELF: MISO HAPPY!

I recently had the opportunity to try Chino Latino Bottomless Sushi Brunch on one of the hottest weekends of the year.

When it comes to East Asian food, nothing delights me more than trying food I can’t make myself. Sushi is indeed one of those dishes and given that the Chino Latino offering is bottomless, it was my time to shine (and inhale it all).

Arriving at Chino Latino at 1pm, I was greeted by the host and shown to my table where my friend had arrived earlier. The music was pumping all the songs currently on my Spotify playlist and soon after I was given a glass of bubbles.

Chino Latino overlooks the Thames and the restaurant is spacious allowing you plenty of room to dance as you head on up to check out the bottomless sushi offering. Each sushi dish is clearly labelled with tongs next to each station. I paced myself to begin with and went in with a view to try one of everything.

For seafood lovers, Chino Latino has seared salmon rolls, seared tuna nigiri and tenkasu rolls as part of the offering. If you’re not fond of seafood, or meat, I recommend trying the cocomango maki which contains asparagus and avocado – zingy and fresh. I particularly liked the duck salad (very tender) and the beef taquitos (packed full of flavour).

On the other hand, the sashimi was a bit dry. I think it could have been served with a bit more soy sauce or wasabi to help moisten it up. After making my way through two plates of sushi, it was time to order the mains which were a Thai chicken curry or vegetable curry. As there were two of us we decided to order one of each so we could try both.

Both curries were packed full of flavour and if you’re wondering, there was room for dessert. We were luckily located just in front of the dessert station and helped ourselves to several lashings of cream brûlée.

Overall, I would say that Chino Latino’s bottomless sushi brunch is a great affordable option (Only £40 pp) if you’re looking for a casual way to enjoy some sushi in a gorgeous setting. It would be great for a date, birthday or catching up with friends. There are no restrictions on how much sushi you can have so please make sure to try every piece. The only let down was the sashimi which was quite dry. I would recommend this is brought out fresh to order or served with more soy sauce or wasabi.

P.S – Don’t forget to try the Pink Dragon cocktail.Chino Latino Bottomless Sushi Brunch Review – Park Plaza Riverbank

ABOUT CHINO LATINO BRUNCH

The menu includes sushi favourites such as salmon Sashimi, tuna Nigiri and miso soup which sit alongside a selection of beautiful Dim Sum, such as the Foie Gras chicken Sui Mai and crisp vegetable gyozas. The fusion menu also includes beef taquitos, a selection of vibrant salads and some larger mains, such as a fried aubergine dish and crispy duck, served classically with spring onions and hoisin sauce, as well as balanced vegetarian options.

Bottomless sushi brunch is best enjoyed with cocktails, and there are plenty of zingy serves to order from the Latino bar, which also has a considered wine menu. Drinks highlights include a vibrant Passion Fruit Martini or a classic Old Fashioned. Non alcoholic options include the Momo – peach, coconut, lime, guava, and Orange Is The New Black, a sharp smash of orange, lemons and blackberries. The bar also has an extensive selection of sake, each with a brief description and pairing suggestion, for an authentic sushi experience. Those looking for something light and effervescent to pair with brunch might try Shirakaberuga – a lively sparkling junmai; or those looking for something more traditional may enjoy Asahi Kubota-Senju, which can be served either hot or cold.
