Same Dress Different Bodies Live Review – The London Palladium

A CELEBRATION OF CONFIDENCE AND SELF LOVE

By Tanya Howard | Founder, The Live Review London · @glamglitzlondon

Walking into the London Palladium for Same Dress Different Bodies Live, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But what unfolded was a truly beautiful, emotional, and empowering evening. It was full of joy, laughter, and celebration, yet at the same time, it delved into some deeply personal and heavy topics that left a lasting impression.

FROM PODCAST TO PALLADIUM: THE POWER OF LAURA AND LOTTIE

Same Dress Different Bodies Live is the creation of Laura Adlington and Lottie Drynan. Two incredible women who’ve used their own personal journeys with body image and confidence to create some that feels raw, relatable, and genuinely inspiring. They were honest and open and the struggles they’ve face, and what pushed them to make a change. Their warmth and humour made the whole audience feel seen and safe. You could feel how much it meant to them to be on the Palladium stage, and that feeling was contagious.

The event featured a live panel session with Stephanie Yeboah, Stevie B Shindler, and Alex Light. They each brought powerful and personal insights to the conversation. There were moments of laughter, moments of reflection, and genuinely useful takeaways. They talked about navigating body confidence, toxic beauty standards, and unlearning years of internalised messaging. And audience members were invited to ask questions, which made it feel intimate despite the grand setting.

REAL WOMEN, REAL STORIES: THE WONDER WOMEN MAKEOVERS

One of most moving parts of the night was the Wonder Women makeover section. Laura and Lottie selected three women from hundreds of applications for their ‘confidence overhaul’. Hearing the stories of the women who put themselves forward, and why they struggle with self-love, was incredibly moving. It was a reminder that so many of us are quietly battling insecurities and waiting for permission to feel good enough.

It wasn’t about before and after transformations. It was about showing them small steps, like adding a pop of colour to their wardrobe instead of always defaulting to black. And how small steps can build confidence over time. Seeing them walk the catwalk at the end brought a tear to my eye. I truly hope their confidence continues to grow and that they discover their self-love.

STYLE HAS NO SIZE: THE ICONIC CATWALK CELEBRATION

Last but not least, was the iconic Same Dress Different Bodies catwalk. Five sets of two models walked in the same outfits, showcasing how different styles work for all body types. It was a simple yet powerful reminder that fashion is for everyone, and that style has no size. It wasn’t about comparison; it was about celebration. And I was super proud to see two women, Jaz and Shannon, that I follow on Instagram among the models!

At its heart, Same Dress Different Bodies Live is about body positivity and self-acceptance. But it doesn’t shy away from the realities of struggling with self-love. The show made me reflect on my own relationship with my body. It had been at the back of my mind, but it was the moment I was truly confronted by the fact I’m not as happy as I once was. I know that self-acceptance is an ongoing journey rather than a destination, but it still hit me hard.

Despite this, the energy in the room was incredible. It felt like a safe space where everyone can relate on some level. Whether it was about not feeling good enough, being the “loud, funny friend” to compensate for insecurities, or struggling with diet culture, there was a real sense of solidarity. Same Dress Different Bodies Live wasn’t just a show; it was an experience.

Fashion is for all, confidence is for all, and most importantly, we are all enough. Exactly as we are!
