Earlier this year, a dynamic trail of interactive bronze statues has graced London’s Leicester Square, celebrating the capital’s rich movie history and exciting future. ‘Scenes in the Square’ is a unique cultural initiative by Discover Leicester Square, operated by Heart of London Business Alliance, in partnership with major film studios and the help of Westminster City Council.
A creative expression of the past hundred years of movie magic, the long-term art installation will feature highly recognisable classic and contemporary film characters, each immortalised in interactive and expressive bronze statues, some brought to life in the evening through lighting.
A perfect outing for the whole family, there really is something to do for everyone! Whether that be coming to have your picture eating a marmalade sandwich with Paddington, taking off under Mary Poppins umbrella or answering the Bat signal’s call with Batman at the iconic Odeon Luxe Leicester Square.
Each statue is designed to captivate the audience and transport you to the imagination of some of the world’s most beloved films, in one of the world’s most famous squares!
