BIG MAMMA

This Valentine’s Day, Big Mamma is rolling out the pink carpet and polishing Cupid’s bow with its showstopper dessert – ‘Falling in Love with Choux’. A twist on its much-loved XXL profiterole, the Valentine’s Day special consists of a giant home-made choux bun, filled with homemade fior di latte gelato, topped with fresh raspberry jam and crunchy pink praline, and topped with plenty of chocolate sauce.

Big Mamma’s ‘Falling in Love with Choux’ (£12) is available from 14th – 18th February at all sites: Gloria, Circolo Popolare, Ave Mario, Jacuzzi and Carlotta.

HITHE & SEEK

To celebrate Valentine’s Day Head Chef, Fabio De Paolis, has collaborated with wine connoisseur Hannah Crosbie, to create a six-course wine-pairing menu that combines elegance and taste, and aphrodisiac-imbued dishes. Hannah and Fabio have worked collaboratively to curate a menu that is the epitome of romance, with playful takes on the dish’s names such as “The Booty Call” and “The My-Type-on-Paper”.

The menu will be launched at an intimate supper club on Wednesday 7 February and run throughout February. Available Tuesday to Saturday from 8th February to 2nd March, the menu features an aperitif cocktail, followed by six small plates to share accompanied by matching wines for £99 per person.

FIREBIRD

Perfectly positioned in the vibrant streets of Soho, Firebird – an open-fire Mediterranean restaurant – will serve a special Valentine’s Day menu at £59. The menu, only available on 14th February, highlights Firebird’s use of minimal ingredients with curious flavour combinations. Head Chef Giacomo Perett has created a special menu with the flames at the centre of the flavour.

First, guests will choose between Halloumi with truffle and pears, tuna tartare with ponzu and cured egg, or the slow-cooked veal loin with tomato sauce and apple. The main course will feature a choice between beetroot risotto served with quince gel and gorgonzola, grilled seabass fillet with fermented turnips and green olives tapenade or the signature lamb leg steak with artichoke and mint gremolata. The dessert is an unmissable treat; diners will enjoy the olive oil cake with fior di latte ice cream and chocolate-amarena sauce.

Firebird offers a beautiful array of natural wines and curated cocktails, but for Valentine’s Day only, the team will serve a refreshing Sicilian Margarita (£14.50) with olive and green basil as an Aperitif and beautiful Sauternes from Bordeaux (2009 Loupiac, Château Dauphiné-Rondillon, Bordeaux, France) as a dessert wine (£12).

SLOANE PLACE

For one night only, Sloane Place, renowned for its outstanding Asian/European cuisine, has curated a special four-course Valentine’s Day menu with the theme “Love Express” to take loved ones on a sensuous journey where the tastes and aromas of The Orient meet classic European flavours. Following dinner, head downstairs to The Hideaway, a modern speakeasy, for an evening of soulful live music.

The memorable menu has been put together by Executive Chef Bernhard Mayer and Head Chef Maryono Maryono. Guests can enjoy starters including pan-seared foie gras with warm Belgium waffle, or caramelized Cerney Ash with green harissa. Mains include English mustard & soy spiced Scottish salmon fillet, and Grilled Surrey farmed grass-fed beef fillet. And you can finish off with “The Rose” which is a pistachio sponge, with rose ganache, and lychee sorbet.

ELINE

Nestled a moment’s walk from Hoxton station, neighbourhood restaurant Eline will be serving a special Valentine’s Day menu on 14th February. Co-owner and chef Alex Reynolds has created a four course set menu designed to be shared and paired perfectly with Eline’s low intervention wines.

On the menu, guests will enjoy snacks such as whipped chicken liver parfait & chutney and house charcuterie, before tucking into a starter of confit trout dressed with avocado and pickled grapefruit, with a grapefruit infused hollandaise sauce. The main course will feature barbecued lamb rump, with pommes boulangère cooked in lamb stock, with a mint and gem salad.

To finish off the set menu, diners can enjoy the chocolate fondant, an indulgent molten chocolate pudding topped with a generous scoop of homemade toasted hazelnut ice cream. The menu is priced at £45 per person.

NORMA

Norma, the Fitzrovia destination for contemporary, vibrant Sicilian-inspired cuisine in London will enchant couples with a special Tasting Menu on Valentine’s Day. Offering beautiful interiors, styled marbled booths and cosy nooks, Norma offers the perfect starry-eyed atmosphere to celebrate.

Curated by Executive Chef Giovann Attard, Norma’s menu will include specials such as Kale pesto arancino, Stuffed beetroot gnocchi, Pork fillet and Cardamon and Rose pannacotta for dessert. The  tasting menu priced at £65pp – which cannoli get hearts racing.

STICKS’N’SUSHI

To celebrate the day of love, Sticks’n’Sushi has created the perfect Eat In menu to share with loved ones. Available across all 12 restaurants, the menu will run from Wednesday 14th February to Sunday 18th February.

The menu combines notes of Danish and Japanese flavours paying tribute to the restaurant’s dual heritage. The menu is priced at £98 for two or £120 for two with the addition of two glasses of Telmont Champagne.
