SENSAS is one of those experiences where you think you know what you’re signing up for. Five senses. An immersive experience with tasks to challenge each one. A bit of fun. Maybe some mildly uncomfortable moments. Perhaps a bit of exertion. What I did not expect was to be panicking in the dark, laughing uncontrollably at my friends, and questioning my own bravery… All within the first few minutes.
We went as a group of four, which felt like a really good number. Although, SENSAS can accommodate up to 60 players in one session. Throughout the experience, you often work in pairs, taking turns while the rest of your group watches on monitors. Sometimes that makes things easier; other times it’s much worse. Especially when you can see exactly what your friends have been asked to do, and you’re up next.
DARK ROOMS, BIG NERVES AND ZERO CONFIDENCE
The entire experience lasts around two hours and moves you through a series of sensory rooms. Some are in complete darkness. Others are colourful and bright. Each challenge is time based, and every second counts. You are racing the clock while also trying to think straight, which turns out to be much harder than it sounds. When you succeed, you unlock tokens shaped like the senses. When you fail, you get nothing except mild humiliation and a lot of laughter.
The taste challenge kicks things off and immediately throws you in at the deep end. Trying to identify flavours in complete darkness is a humbling experience. Your confidence disappears very quickly when your brain cannot rely on sight. What you think is obvious often turns out to be wildly wrong, and watching your teammates react on the screens is half the entertainment.
Touch was where things truly unravelled for us. Big dark boxes. No visibility. Your imagination doing laps before your hands even move. We stood there far too long psyching ourselves out and eventually accepted defeat. The only upside was being able to bank our unused time to use later, which felt like a small mercy.
LAUGHS, CHAOS AND DONATIONS TO A VERY GOOD CAUSE
Not every challenge is panic inducing though. Some are genuinely funny. The hearing room ended up being our favourite and had us crying with laughter. Without giving anything away, it becomes chaotic very quickly and somehow brings out everyone’s inner theatre kid. There is also an adult version available, which we obviously opted for, and I can confirm it makes everything ten times funnier.
One great element of SENSAS is that for every token you collect during the experience is converted into a real donation for a local partner charity supporting people with disabilities. It is a genuinely lovely touch and gives the whole experience an added layer of purpose. By the end, I was exhausted. Properly exhausted. But in that buzzy, endorphin filled way where you cannot stop talking about what just happened. And having earned money for the charity.
INTENSE, STRANGELY BONDING, AND A HOST WHO ELEVATES THE EXPERIENCE
Let me be clear, this is a really fun experience, but it’s not for the faint of heart. It was described to us as I’m A Celeb meets Big Brother by our Master of Senses, Vlad. The Master of Senses is the person who guides you through the experience over a tannoy system. He added so much to the experience. Sometimes hyping us up. Sometimes calming us down. Sometimes absolutely terrifying us in a fun way. He celebrated every win and took great pleasure in zooming in on our most dramatic reactions on the cameras.
SENSAS is intense, silly, nerve-wracking, and genuinely unforgettable. It’s not about being good at the challenges; it’s about throwing yourself into them. It’s silly. It’s uncomfortable. It’s hilarious. And it is surprisingly bonding. It pushes you out of your comfort zone while keeping everything safe and playful. If you love immersive experiences, team challenges, and laughing at yourself under pressure, this one is absolutely worth it. Would I do it again? Yes. Would I put my hand in the mystery box next time? Absolutely not.
