Italian Grappelli Food Hall Launched At The Gantry

DISCOVER THE ITALIAN WAY OF GROCERY SHOPPING

Locals to the area, hotel guests, and visitors from further afield are invited to discover the Italian way of grocery shopping at Grappelli Food Hall at The Gantry. Taking inspiration from a typically Roman shop ‘Pizzicheria’, that describes an establishment more like one’s very own pantry than just a store, where customers are invited to travel through a culinary journey.

With a capacity of 40, the outlet will boast an impressive array of fresh fruit and vegetables from reputable suppliers, and meat from expert butchers. As well as a plethora of award-winning deli products that will sit alongside premium Italian cheese, charcuterie, groceries, baked goods, pasta and fine wines.

The brains behind the brand, founder Alessandro Grappelli, is deeply passionate about the importance of sourcing quality raw ingredients. With 100% authentic Italian products and brands on offer, which have been deftly selected from independent Italian producers, Alessandro aims to bring his food expertise and exciting concept – already established on the Northcote Road- to the burgeoning area of Stratford, East London.

With its Italian artisanal offering – that champions provenance – and versatile events space, Grappelli Food Hall at The Gantry is due to make a mark on the luxury retail sector and hospitality industry as a destination for local and discerning Londoners alike. Offering an-all day service, from breakfast, to Italian Aperitivo and everything in between.

VISITING GRAPPELLI FOOD HALL AT THE GANTRY

I visited Grappelli Food Hall on their opening day and got to try out some of their food and drink offerings. Upon entering you walk into the grocery store side of the Food Hall, with a wide range of products available. You could do an entire shop here with meat, dairy, fruit, vegetables, pasta, drinks, and so much more on offer. I was very excited by the selection of fruit flavoured Balsamic Vinegar, and the fwip gelato machine.

On the far right-hand side you’ll find the Food Hall’s dining area. Pull up a chair and order yourself an all-day breakfast, focaccia sandwich, or some homemade pasta. From the Antipasti menu you can’t beat the Bufala e Parma, Buffalo Mozzarella and Parma Ham. If there’s not a Focaccia Sandwich that catches your eye you can make your own. And let me tell you they really do know how to make a great pasta dish!

We got to try a selection of food and drinks on the day, and I was in heaven. Do not put a plate of salami in front of me because I will not be able to control myself. Let’s not discuss how much I consumed on the day! Stop by the deli section and treat yourself to a few packets for at home snacks. And you need to pick up a bottle of Nerosé, La Madeleine Sparkling Wine. As someone who doesn’t drink Rose usually, this was insane, so delicious.
