CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! TASKMASTER: THE LIVE EXPERIENCE IS THE ULTIMATE FAN ADVENTURE

Have you ever watched Taskmaster and thought “I could smash these tasks” or screamed “Check under the bloody table”. If you know, you know! Because let me tell you, I am so that person. Living in my delulu land thinking any show I watch I could compete in and win. And I say delulu land because I was swiftly brought back down to Earth when I took part in Taskmaster: The Live Experience. But despite learning Taskmaster may not be my forte it was so much fun. Let me share with you five reasons you should book Taskmaster: The Live Experience.

TASKS THAT ARE PURE CHAOS

Get ready to throw logic out the window as you choose between two different challenge themes. Are you team Absolute Casserole or team Melon Buffet? I took part in Absolute Casserole but I’m not about to give nothing away because where’s the fun in spoilers. Instead, I will cop out with the website info here, Absolute Casserole needs you to be observant, accurate, and sneakier than your competitors. And Melon Buffet; thinking, throwing, ducks, wires, balls, boxes, cunning, luck, moustaches – these are all things that may or may not be served up in the Melon Buffet.

STEP ONTO THE SET OF TASKMASTER

Dock X in Canada Water has been transformed to feel like you are stepping onto the set of Taskmaster. Before and after you are called inside the Taskmaster house to get your task on you can explore the garden and museum. Get your picture with Linda the cow, snoop through the caravan, and grab a bin juice from the Taskonbury Festival bar. Wander through the museum and look through props and artwork from across all 18 seasons of the show. You’ll even find a few mini tasks dotted around like throw a potato in the hole without touching the red green.

SOME VERY SPECIAL GUIDES TO KEEP YOU ON TRACK

So, of course you can’t expect Greg Davies and Alex Horne to be there in the flesh. But they do make an appearance in the form of screen recordings sharing guidance and judgement. And for the real Taskmaster feel, you’ll be escorted round by your very own ‘Little Little Alex Horne’. Your guide will explain the rules, and help to keep things fun, chaotic, and on track as you stumble through the challenges. And of course, they will keep you updated on everyone’s scores along the way.

BRAGGING RIGHTS – AND MAYBE A PRIZE OR TWO

Get ready for your competitive side to come out as you battle it out with the other players for points. On arrival you will receive a lanyard with a letter on so that Little Little Alex Horne can track your scores. After all it’s not all fun and games, someone must come out on top. The only spoiler I will give is… I was not the triumphant one! Not everyone can be the Taskmaster champion but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a laugh along the way. But not only does someone get the Taskmaster champion title they also might win a cheeky little prize too.

TREAT YOURSELF TO A SOUVENIR AND GRAB A PHOTO

Remember your day at Taskmaster: The Live Experience by treating yourself to some memorabilia. Clothes, games, books, mugs, beers, pins, there is such a selection of merchandise to choose from. And for anyone who loves a selfie moment, there are so many photo opps. Every turning you’ll find themed props or backdrops ready for you to capture your victorious or disappointed moments. Either outcome you’ll want to show that you faced the Taskmaster gauntlet and lived to tell the tale.

Whether you’re looking to conquer tasks or just enjoy a day of laughs, Taskmaster: The Live Experience is a fun event. Expect to see the classic elements of Taskmaster, we’re talking pineapples, ducks, etc. My advice would be to embrace the chaos, be creative, and laugh your way through the experience. It’s not the cheapest, with tickets starting at £50, but if you go off peak then you’ll save some money. And can you really put a prize on the chance to call yourself a champion.
