You know those nights where you just want something low-pressure but still fun. With good food, drinks, and a bit of friendly competition? That’s exactly what Players Social in Spitalfields delivers. It’s got that playful, easy-going energy that makes you forget it was ever a “plan” and just feels like a spontaneous night out that worked.

We went for The Game Plan deal, and it was such good value. For £20 each, you get half a pizza, three beers or half a bottle of wine, and an hour of game time. Affordable, fun, and ideal if you want a night out without blowing the budget. We went for the house white wine (very drinkable, by the way), and my friend added lemonade because she loves a spritz.

The food menu’s small but mighty, and the prices are refreshingly reasonable. The Diavola Pepperoni Pizza (£13) came loaded with smoky pepperoni, mozzarella, guindilla chilli, and tomato. A proper crowd-pleaser with that satisfying crunch to the crust. We couldn’t resist adding extras (because self-control is overrated). The Soy-Bourbon Wings (£12 for six) were sticky, sweet, and a spicy mayo that keeps you going back for another. And the Rosemary Fries (£5.50)? Golden, crisp, and exactly the kind of side you can’t stop picking at even when you’re full. Perfect selection for sharing.

SHUFFLEBOARD, DARTS & A DASH OF FRIENDLY RIVALRY

Usually, you pick one game (shuffleboard or interactive darts) but since we were reviewing, they let us try both. We did half an hour of each, and it was the perfect balance. Shuffleboard is easy to pick up but weirdly addictive. We got through three games, and I can easily see how you’d fit about six into an hour.

Then came darts, but not your standard pub set-up. These are digital boards with mini-interactive games alongside the classics like 501. They track your scores automatically, which saves all the squabbling (and exposes who’s secretly competitive). It was such a laugh and would be great for date nights, or just an evening with friends. Though if it is a first date, maybe keep that inner competitive beast in check until at least date three!

The whole team was brilliant, but special shoutout to Astou, who looked after us all night and made sure we had everything we needed. The vibe is really relaxed, upbeat without being chaotic, and it’s one of those places where you immediately feel comfortable. Location-wise, it couldn’t be easier. Right in middle of Spitalfields, it’s ideal for after-work fun, pre-dinner drinks, or a weekend hangout.

Whether you’re there for darts, shuffleboard, or just to grab a pizza and a cocktail, Players Social delivers a night that feels far more premium than the price tag suggests. Fun, friendly, and affordable, it’s the kind of spot you’ll leave already planning your next round.
