If you’re looking for an evening of laughter, creativity, and a cheeky bit of fun, I’ve got the recommendation for you. Recently I attended the Bling My Bits party at Tequila Mockingbird in Covent Garden. Bling My Bits you say? Offering a unique twist on the typical art class, Bling My Bits centres around decorating erotic phallic moulds. Yes, you hear that right! As well as an evening of crafting, there would also be a quiz and it was a chance to make some new friends.

We were greeted on arrival by the friendly team and given a welcome glass of Prosecco. The atmosphere was immediately vibrant and inviting, with upbeat music and a buzz of anticipation and excitement. The choice of Tequila Mockingbird was perfect for such an event – colourful, fun, and a great cocktail menu. The evening began with the mould decorating workshop, which you are given 90 minutes to complete.

The workshop starts with an introduction from the hosts, a showcase of the materials available and a book of inspiration. I decided to channel my inner Disney fan and created a Little Mermaid inspired piece. This involved turning the family jewels into a tail, adding a gem belt, and fashioning a shell bra. The highlight was a full head of red hair made from pipe cleaners! But I’m not about to take credit for that; one of the talented hosts made it for me.

My friend took a different route, designing a firework inspired mould with vibrant colour blocking, coloured gems, and feathers. The creative process was immersive and fun, thought the 90-minute timeframe was challenging. I got caught up in the intricate details of the design and the time just flew by. Despite the pressure the instructors were incredibly supportive, offering tips, help, and encouragement along the way.

Once we had finished decorating all our creations were lined up together and it was time to pick a winner. There was a bride to be celebrating her hen do in the venue, so she was asked to judge. It was great to see the different directions we had all taken with our designs. It’s a surreal moment when you look at a stranger at the same event and say, “Which willy is yours?”.

Next up was the quiz portion of the evening, all questions centred around penises and sex. Whilst I didn’t win, I learned some obscure and amusing facts that I’m unlikely to forget. I’m not sure any of it will ever come up in conversation again but who knows. The quiz added a competitive edge to the evening, with prizes up for grabs for the top scorer.

Overall, Bling My Bits was a big hit with my friend and I! It was the perfect mix of creativity, humour, and socialising. The event is perfect for anyone looking to try something different, whether you’re with friends or looking to meet new people. The combination of arts and crafts with a cheeky twist makes it a unique and memorable experience.

Based in Glasgow but not expanding into London, Bling My Bits offers a welcoming environment where you can let loose and embrace your creative side. They offer private events which are perfect for hen parties, birthdays, baby showers, etc, as well as themed events each month. The themed events are ideal for a catch up with friends or event a cheeky date night. You won’t be lost for conversation on that night let me tell you!
