Bill’s Restaurants Victoria Unveils New Look And Menu
BILL’S RESTAURANTS VICTORIA
A review by Tanya Howard
Prominently positioned in Cardinal Shopping Centre, Bill’s Restaurants have unveiled a new look at their London Victoria site, and I was invited to the launch event last week. We were also able to try out some of the sharing platter dishes and cocktails from the new season menu.
I have been a fan of Bill’s Restaurants for a few years now, with one of my favourite dishes being the Mini Cumberland Sausages with honey & grain mustard from their ‘For The Table’ menu so I was excited to see the new seasonal additions.
The new look gives the restaurant a very cheerful, welcoming and homely feel with the vibrant colours, comfortable velvet seating, a vivacious bar and the stunning chandeliers giving us all the stately homes vibes. I went with Hannah and we were both staring at the décor and wondering why we didn’t live in a mansion with our own chandeliers, and personally I’d take the bar too.
Bill’s Restaurants have currently partnered with Hendrick’s Gin and we got to try their collaborated cocktail, the Flora Dora, featuring Hendrick’s Gin, Raspberry Syrup, Lime Juice and topped with Ginger Beer. As someone who is not the biggest gin fan, I was pleasantly surprised and loved the cocktail so much that I went for a second before moving on to the Prosecco, so I’d definitely recommend giving it a try.
The new dishes that we were able to try on the night was Creamy Mushrooms on Garlic Focaccia, Spiced Cauliflower and Butternut Squash Falafel Bowl, and Beetroot and Glazed Goat’s Cheese Risotto. The mushrooms were deep fried with a mushroom cream sauce, which was just begging to be mopped up by the Focaccia after eating the mushrooms.
The Falafel Bowl is suitable for vegans, and contains ancient grains, cauliflower cous cous, kale, spring onion and picked red onion served with a turmeric and mint soy yoghurt. This was my first-time trying Falafel and I really enjoyed it and loved how the flavours all worked so well together.
Last but by no means least the Beetroot and Glazed Goat’s Cheese Risotto was drizzled with rosemary honey and served with pea shoots and kale. This dish was my absolute favourite of the night and I could have happily had bowl after bowl of this dish. The beetroot flavouring is not too strong, and the rosemary honey really elevated the dish.
We had such a great evening in such a lovely venue with some really wholesome and filling dishes, and upon leaving both mentioned how we definitely planned on coming back in the future. I would definitely recommend you get down to Bill’s Restaurant Victoria and make sure to try the Flora Dora cocktail and the Risotto dish.
