THE NEW ADDITION TO EAST LONDON’S EATING AND DRINKING SCENE WILL GIVE LONDONERS AND VISITORS ALIKE A BRAND-NEW DESTINATION TO ENJOY OVER THE SUMMER MONTHS

Skylight is thrilled to announce a new and exciting pop-up collaboration for 2021 that will bring some of London’s finest street food to one of the city’s iconic outdoor spaces. Taking over the Quayside area at Tobacco Dock from Saturday 1st May 2021, Skylight Canalside featuring KERB will be a unique partnership between the street food pioneer and the well-loved rooftop venue.

At a time where outdoor drinking and dining is at the forefront of social plans, this new addition to East London’s eating and drinking scene will give Londoners and visitors alike a brand-new destination to enjoy over the summer months. Skylight Canalside featuring KERB is located waterside beneath the two ‘pirate’ sailing ships at Tobacco Dock and will encapsulate a beer-garden feel, with picnic tables, parasols, atmospheric lighting and bunting. In addition to this, Skylight’s summery laid turf and traditional garden games will also feature, making this canalside venue a unique spot to meet friends, enjoy food, drinks and good times, all in a Covid-safe environment.

The line-up will see a rotating offering of deliciously mouth-watering street food, with two new KERB food trucks parking up each month. Fundi Pizza and Tongue ‘N Cheek are first taking up residency every Saturday in May. Fundi, launched in 2021 by brother’s Charlie and Rory Nelson, specialises in authentic Neapolitan style pizzas – stretched and hand-made to order in hand-made wood fire ovens. Tongue and Cheek serves up Italian inspired burgers, sourcing meat from Nathan Mills of The Butchery, known for practicing nose-to-tail butchery while also creating delicious vegan options.

Skylight’s top-rated bar team will be pouring an array of beers, wines and spirits as well as an all-new seasonal cocktail menu, which will feature refreshing and fruity concoctions – all delivered to the table and perfect for sunshine sipping. Examples include the everpopular Skylight Garden (Beefeater, St Germain Elderflower, peach, plum, apple, lemon), the Lawn Club Sour (Monkey Shoulder, Benedictine DOM, Angostura & Peychaud bitters, sugar, lemon), the Sky Tai (Havana Club 7 year old, Trios Overproof Rum, Cointreau, pineapple, lime juice, Orgeat, agave syrup) and a brand new addition for 2021 – Moët & Chandon slushies.

KERB was founded in 2012 with people and street food at its heart. Today the food pioneers focus on 3 areas: incubation, food halls and event catering. KERB’s mission is to create opportunity and joy, from the kerb up, via brilliant food, a diverse ecosystem and exceptional hospitality.Tables of 6 are available to book on Saturdays throughout the summer, until 7th August. The tables are £10 to secure for a group of 6 for a 2-hour 45 minute session, from 12pm, 3pm and 6pm. Quayside Bar will also be available for indoor bookings from 17th May. Table service is available throughout the venue for both food and drink, with guests also able to order and pay contactless from the table.

 

The Skylight management team have been continuously monitoring government guidelines since the beginning of the pandemic and have worked with a leading health and safety consultant to ensure that the venue is as safe as possible for the guests and the team alike. Skylight has both the ‘We’re Good To Go’ and ‘AIM’ COVID-safe accreditations.

Skylight Canalside featuring KERB is the sister venue of Skylight Rooftop, also located at Tobacco Dock. The rooftop which boasts panoramic and uninterrupted views across London’s skyline is reopening for summer on 12th April 2021.
