London Celebrates Margarita Week With Cazcabel Tequila

THIS FEBRUARY, CAZACABEL IS TEAMING UP WITH VENUES ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO CREATE DRINKS EXPERIENCES THAT PROMOTE THE MARGARITA IN ITS MANY FORMS

This year, to mark National Margarita Day, leading tequila brand, Cazcabel is launching the very first Margarita Week, taking place from the 18th to 26th February. With eight days of masterclasses, events, tastings, partnerships and promotions across the country, National Margarita Week will celebrate this iconic cocktail in true Cazcabel style.

Recently named the UK’s bestselling 100% agave tequila, Cazcabel is fast becoming a world-leading tequila brand, voted Master in this year’s Tequila & Mezcal Master Awards and stocked in the world’s favourite bars, restaurants, and retailers. This February, Cazcabel is teaming up with venues across the country to create drinks experiences that promote the Margarita in its many forms. These include: Callooh Callay and Murder Inc. in London, Science + Industry and El Capo in Manchester, Butter and PINS in Liverpool, Leave Me Alone, Lisa and Hibou in Newcastle, and many more.

Throughout Margarita Week, Cazcabel will be working with some of the UK’s top cocktail bars on exciting activations designed to excite and educate. A series of ‘Master Your Margarita’ masterclasses will take class in venues like Barrio in Brixton, London and Cargo Cantina in Bristol. In these sessions, tequila experts will take guests through the techniques and ingredients that can transform a boring supermarket-grade Margarita into something special. Guests will learn about flavoured syrups and complementary liqueurs before making their own Margarita recipe and taking a bottle of their creation home with them.

As well as masterclasses, bar groups all over the country like STACK, Akito, and Head Of Steam will be hosting their own dedicated Margarita menus. In London, Mestizo Chelsea will launch a new margarita menu, Bao Shoreditch will be running a ‘Hot Man Margarita’ special as well as launching a ‘Margarita Robot’. Cank Street in Leicester will be organising a 24hr ‘Marg-a-thon’ for charity and Home Bar will be kicking off the ‘Fastest Margarita in the East’ competition.

The history of the Margarita is shrouded in mystery and folklore, with many bars and bartenders across Mexico and America claiming to have created the legendary recipe of tequila, triple sec, and lime juice, and countless showgirls or actresses named Margarita being cited as the drink’s eponymous muse. Since the late 1930s, the Margarita has grown in popularity and seemingly endless variations on this classic cocktail are still being produced. The world’s top bartenders and chefs continue to create incredibly innovative versions, with Michelin-starred chef, Adam Handling including the ’24 Carrot Margarita’, a recipe using carrot top butter-washed Cazcabel Reposado Tequila in his recent cocktail book. The drink’s superstar status was recently confirmed when in 2021, the Margarita was voted the world’s favourite cocktail.

Known for its high quality, seven-year-old, Blue Weber agave and its unique flavour expressions. 100% Agave Cazcabel Blanco is the perfect tequila for Margaritas, from the spicy and piquant, to the full and fruity. Simple to make at home, but impressive enough to wow all your friends at a party, some of Cazcabel’s favourites include the Tommy’s Margarita; a combination of Cazcabel Blanco, fresh lime juice and agave syrup, and the Spicy Margarita; a combination of Cazcabel Blanco, fresh lime juice, cucumber syrup and Jalapeno chilli. Garnished with a chilli and cucumber ribbon, the Spicy Margarita combines cool freshness with a hot kick.

For those looking for more of a thirst-quenching fruity concoction with plenty of visual impact, then a Watermelon Margarita made with Cazcabel Blanco, watermelon syrup, fresh watermelon and fresh lime juice, or a Mango Margarita, made with Cazcabel Blanco, mango puree, fresh lime and sugar syrup, are perfect party pleasers.
