At its core, “The Play That Goes Wrong” is a play within a play, following a hapless theatre company attempting to stage an Agatha Christie-esque murder mystery. However, true to its title, everything that could possibly go wrong does, and then some. Props fall, set pieces collapse, actors miss cues, get hurt and have to leave the show, and mishaps escalate with increasing absurdity. This seemingly endless parade of disasters is all meticulously timed and executed, creating a comic experience that’s as impressive as it is side-splittingly funny.
