Set in the whimsical kingdom of Slutvia, the story revolves around a prince’s quest for true love at his 21st birthday ball. However, an unconventional encounter in the palace rose garden plunges him into the 21st century. Where palaces are managed by the National Trust, and romantic pursuits are often found on Grindr. The ensuing chaos involves a wicked uncle, throne reclamation, romance, family values, and even the establishment of a primitive democracy. All whilst needing to catch up on all the latest pop culture, including all 30 seasons of Drag Race.

The cast delivers an outstanding performance, blending excellent comedic timing with genuine emotional depth. Each cast member displays a genuine camaraderie that translates into an infectious energy on stage. The chemistry between characters, particularly the prince and his love interest, adds depth to the narrative, making the audience genuinely invest in their journey. The script, infused with sublimely silly and staggeringly rude humour, keeps the audience engaged throughout.

I have to say this is the best pantomime I’ve seen in years and is a performance that will long stay with me.
