Phantom Peak London Review
PHANTOM PEAK: AN IMMERSIVE ADVENTURE LIKE NO OTHER
Hidden in Canada Water is a fully immersive open-world experience that defies easy categorisation. Phantom Peak is a fusion of immersive theatre, escape room, and real-life video game. All set in a living, breathing town brimming with mysteries waiting to be unravelled. From the moment you step into this fictional world, you’re free to explore, interact with quirky characters, and uncover hidden plots. Prepare to be enchanted as Phantom Peak takes you on a journey to the Wild West.
What is hiding in the vestiges of the mines?
What does the charismatic founder of corporate JONACO really seek in this sleepy town?
Was the Blimp Crash really just an accident?
Your journey begins with an Open Ceremony, which introduces you to the town through a video explaining the workings of phantom peak. It provides you with a website and code to access trails on your phone, referred to as a Jonassist. You have the chance to answer a set of questions that will guide you to one of the various themed trails. These trails feature different scenarios such as investigating the town’s deceased former mayor and ghostbusting. We completed 3.5 trails on our first visit during the 4-hour experience.
HALLOWED PEAK: THE LUNAR FESTIVAL
The experience operates seasonally, featuring four main shows throughout the year, each boasting their own storyline and quests to complete. Hallowed Peak marks Phantom Peak’s Halloween season, where visitors are invited to partake in the festivities surrounding the town’s annual Lunar Festival. The storyline continues from the previous season, where it was announced that a democratic mayoral election would take place. Candidates include interim Mayor Pocket, RoboDJ, a dead former mayor, and an evil Platypus. And you have the vital role of voting and influencing the town’s future.
Having visited Phantom Peak last month, at the end of their summer experience, I was excited to see what the town looked like. One of the most captivating aspects is how the decorations and overall ambiance seamlessly transform. Attending during the summertime offered a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. Whereas for the Halloween special, the town underwent a dramatic metamorphosis, turning in a haven for eerie and spooky experiences.
