New Wimbledon Theatre Releases On Stage Sessions Programme

NEW WIMBLEDON THEATRE TO HOST A UNQIUE SEASON OF INTIMATE ON STAGE EVENTS

For the first time ever this September, New Wimbledon Theatre will host a series of events, in which the performers and the audience will be hosted on the main stage.

The curated season, entitled On Stage Sessions, aims to give the audience the actor’s view of the auditorium, with the iron remaining up throughout, so they can gaze out at New Wimbledon Theatre’s beautiful Edwardian seating and décor whilst enjoying some entirely unique entertainment.

The atypical set-up has everything from jazz nights, to dazzling drag performances, an afternoon at the Music Hall with the legendary Jan Hunt (Crackerjack!), to an art class over a glass of wine, the curtain is open for everyone!

The idea behind the event series and programming has been compiled by Theatre Admin and Events Programmer Emma Brack, who saw an opportunity in the theatre’s dark time, in which to diversify the venue’s offering and create some truly memorable events. The hope is that these unique experiences will not only resonate with New Wimbledon Theatre’s usual theatre audience but will also bring in an entirely different crowd to experience both the venue’s beauty and to make unforgettable memories for them and their party.

Seated in a cabaret style, On Stage Sessions offers a self-contained, friendly and relaxed atmosphere with a bar on stage for the audience’s convenience.
