A WHIRLWIND OF NOSTALGIA, TECH, AND CULINARY DELIGHTS

Fairgame in Canary Wharf offers a whimsical and nostalgic escape into the world of childhood fun. It’s the funair, but not as you remember it. Combining classic fairground games with cutting-edge technology they blend traditional amusement with technological advancements. It’s a chance to let your inner child out but with the added bonus of being able to drink alcohol. It’s time to see whether you’ll still be crowned King or Queen of the fairground in your old age.

Fairgame sees the return of beloved fairground games like Roll-A-Ball Derby, Skeeball, and Clown-Shoot. But with technology adding a new dimension to the familiar, triggering that wave of nostalgia for visitors. There’s also the classic Gopher Broke where you need to whack the mole when he pops his head up. And whilst most people would use the hammer provided, I found some people using literaly fists, are you ok hun?!

Fairgame isn’t just a rehash of the past but an evolution of the classic funfair experience. They have nine games in total, with some that I’ve never seen before. Dunk The Junk sees you have to fill a trash can with balls whilst the lid quickly opens and closes. Then there was Space Race which to be honest I still don’t understand now but it was good fun. Each game offers a unique challenge, ensuring that all visitors find something to enjoy.

FUNFAIR GAMES AND GRUB

Fairgame has collaborated with renowned eateries Burger&Beyond, Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana, and Dos Mas Tacos. I love when venues have a selection of street food vendors to choose from. We had a vegan, vegetarian, and meat eater in our group and we found something for everyone. I’d recommend the Calabrese Pizza from Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana. It’s got San Marzano tomato, fior di latte, basil, e.v. olive oil, parmesan and spicy ‘nduja sausage.

There are three Bumper Bars serving cocktails, spirits, craft beers, wine, soft drinks, and more. They have some really unique cocktails on offer, including the Fizz & Floss. It’s got Tanqueray London Dry Gin, Prosecco, citrus, and candy floss. I’m not usually a fan of gin but I really enjoyed this, and it makes for a great Instagram photo or reel. Another recommendation would be the Skittle Sour, with Skittle-infused East London Vodka, vanilla, citrus, and Skittles.

For £15 per person, you get a time frame of 75 minutes to play each of the nine available games. The games start half hour after your arrival time, giving you a chance to grab a drink and settle in. It’s plenty of time for you to have a go on each game and is really reasonably priced. Fairgame is a great choice for a night out with friends, or a date night activity. Whether you’re a fan of nostalgic games, innovative tech, or yummy street food, you’ll have a lot of fun.
