Top Of The Pop will be a cool new addition to the burgeoning food and drink scene emerging in Tooting

This May, South London will welcome a brand new cocktail bar when Top Of The Pop opens in the hugely popular Tooting Market. Located upstairs at Poptata, the aptly named sister bar Top Of The Pop will be an all-day hangout offering playful cocktails, craft beers and wines to accompany Poptata’s signature premium street fries. On Friday 10th May, to celebrate the launch of the new bar, Poptata Tooting will be offering FREE prosecco to the first 300 lucky Londoners at the bar.

As its name suggests, Top Of The Pop will offer a creative selection of drinks including a Gin & Tonic trolley as well as cocktails on tap. The tap bar will include millennial favourites, such as espresso martinis and Aperol spritz, while the signature cocktail menu will feature botanical twists on classic cocktails. Beyond spirits and cocktails, Top Of The Pop’s menu will also boast an extensive selection of wines and craft beers.

Examples from the new cocktail menu at Top of the Pop will include:

• Feisty Sour – Fortified Amaretto, Grapefruit Juice, Lime Juice, Smokey Syrup (£8)
• Girlie Door – Belvedere Vodka, Luxardo Maraschino, Pineapple, Belvoir Raspberry, Rose Cordial (£8)
• Mi Hermosita – Jose Cuervo Tequila, Aperol, Lime Juice, Sugar, Fizzy Blood Orange (£8)

Located on the large mezzanine floor of Poptata’s Tooting site, Top Of The Pop will incorporate elements of cool urban design with vibrant splashes of colour to enhance its fun and edgy cocktail offering. The central bar will be surrounded by high tables and copper finish stools, as well as an assortment of intimate seated tables, and communal benches for larger groups. Industrial style pink beams and geometric patterned tiles will be offset by a wall of foliage, acting as an Instagram-worthy backdrop to the whole bar.

Downstairs, Poptata serves a simple yet enticing menu of premium fries, cooked to golden perfection and topped with an array of mouth-watering seasonings and fresh sauces. Hand-cut every day from British potatoes and then double-fried, Poptata’s menu can be broken down into three sections – Classic, Cheesy and Loaded. Guests can customise their order with a huge variety of dips including curry ketchup, caramelised onion and mustard and smoky BBQ.
