THE REVEL PUCK CIRCUS: A VERY TALENTED CAST WITH A SHOW STOPPING FINALE

It certainly felt like I was going to the circus when I walked into the Puck Revel Circus Grounds in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The beautiful sunshine also added to the heady experience but the array of caravans around a giant tent was what really got me in the zone. There was a food stand where you can get popcorn and other snacks and if you’re like me, a wee beer as it is the weekend after all – if you are on a large family on a budget like everything in London, it may make sense to bring a few snacky snacks if you have kids who are prone to being peckish.

Food and drink in hand I wandered over to the tent entrance and was presented with a little touch upon entry, the inner child in me was delighted.  Taking my seat I was ready to go and wasn’t disappointed with what the cast had to show me. With a talented nine-person cast and a robust twenty-two-member touring company, The Nose Dive Assembly immerses audiences in the distinctive world of the Revel Pucks. This world-class, playful production showcased many  large-scale contemporary circus acts including high wire walkers, teeterboarders, bespoke apparatus, and the country’s only female Wheel of Death duo!

The Revel Puck Circus acrobats were the first to go and I loved being educated on how their acts were created, I can now spot who the base is in any team (and wish I could eat 4000 calories a day). The acts are highly skilled, funny and well put together and I enjoyed them all. When it comes to family circus I always go by how gleeful the little members of the audience are and I can confirm that they were indeed giggly and gleeful so mission accomplished.

With a fantastic and highly skilled cast including a drone it is a fabulous way to spend an afternoon with the family and there is lots to surprise and delight everyone.  Their finale act was in particular a show stopper and I found myself holding my breath until the very end. Wow!

ABOUT THE COMPANY 

There is a little more to know about the production company ‘The Nose Dive Assembly’. Alongside their large scale productions, they also ensure a visit to one of their shows is a real benefit to people in the area. They offer shadowing/mentoring opportunities to young people and offer London Living Wage employment to local people such as ushers and bar staff. They make 10% of tickets across each location available at £2 to local people for whom price point is a barrier to the arts.
