CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED FEMINIST SKETCH SHOW ANNOUNCES UK TOUR

Partnered with Lunette Menstrual cup, and supported by Arts Council England Queen C*nt, Sacred or Profane comes to the Bunker Theatre

Bristol- based artists Deborah Antoinette and China Fish, and Producer Hannah Elsy (The Quentin Dentin Show, I HAVE A BAD FEELING ABOUT THIS, Summer Nights In Space) are delighted to announce Queen C*nt Sacred or Profane will be touring the South/ South West in Spring 2019 with a grant from Arts Council England, in partnership with menstrual cup Lunette.

Why is it that the oldest term for the female genitalia in the English language is such a shocking and criminal expression? – Expect darkly comic, expect personal perspective, expect not turning a blind eye to gender based violence and expect a joyful reclaiming of the feminine, whilst unashamedly shedding light on the patriarchal systems that keep us all bound.

Producer Hannah Elsy comments ‘I’m proud to produce the Arts Council England funded tour of this daring show. Queen C*nt Sacred or Profane is a post- Weinstein, post- Brett Kavanagh piece, tackling the ugliness of the recent backlash against feminism and women’s rights. The Bunker Theatre is the perfect London house for Queen C*nt Sacred or Profane, as the show and the venue have aligned values of promoting social justice. Deborah and China are bold, brilliant artists, and it’s a privilege to be presenting their work across the South West and in London.’

Performer and creator Deborah Ward comments: ‘When I was younger, I used to escape London’s madness by immersing myself in the mythic, witch-revering alternative cultural beacons of the South West; full of grass roots arts and rich-natural places – Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. Before that I lived in Brighton and the sea smelled of the freshness of the many cultures, music and poetries of the place! I am now utterly delighted to bring these places our witchy-mad-sketch-show!’

Performer and creator China Fish comments: ‘I am so happy to be able to travel the South West and beyond with this show. We’ve put our heart and souls in to its making and powered by patronage and arts Council support, we have been enabled to reach new audiences and perform in a variety of wonderful venues.
