Pigs Might Fly Review – New Wimbledon Theatre

Pigs Might Fly is a feel-good family musical that shows friendship and perseverance are really important. Based on the book by Michael Morpurgo, Pigs Might Fly brings the farmyard to life. The show, currently at New Wimbledon Theatre, includes catchy songs, puppetry, and plenty of frolicsome fun. It’s a tale of two best friends who are kept apart by warring farmers.

Pintsize the piglet is best friends with Diane the sheep. They love nothing more than to play with each other. Until one day their two warring farmers place a huge fence between them. This leaves Pintsize and Diane devastated to say the least. Pintsize knows he can’t jump the fence to get to Diane, so, he hatches a plan to learn how to fly. All he wants is to have the playful friendship they once had back.

Can Pintsize find the determination and defy the laws of physics. Will the bad-tempered Farmer Rafferty finally make peace with his neighbour, Farmer Brightwell. Can Albertine the clever goose keep Pintsize from hurting himself and he learns to fly. Is the need to reunite with his best friend enough to persevere in the face of the huge fence.

The bright and colourful staging, designed by Stewart J Charlesworth, draws your attention in. And with audience interaction and catchy songs it keeps the kids entertained throughout. The show is 50 minutes long which is a great amount of time to keep the children interested. This is a fantastic show for the whole family to enjoy.

There are still two locations that Pigs Might Fly will visit before the end of the tour. On 7 and 8 July you can see the show at Brighton Theatre Royal. And on Sunday 16 July it will be at Milton Keynes Theatre for the final tour date. Book your tickets now to find out if Pintsize can fly and if the two warring farmers can finally get along.
