Menier Store Launches On Friday 30th October
DEDICATED SPACE FOR FOOD AND LIFESTYLE PRODUCTS LAUNCHES TO LONDON BRIDGE
Bringing together the best quality food and drink, plants, homewares and furniture, Menier Store is launching in the Menier Chocolate Factory, Southwark on Friday 30th October.
Drawing not only on the sumptuous surroundings of its home, the Grade II-listed Menier Chocolate Factory (a Victorian warehouse that marked Menier’s global expansion, providing chocolate to the masses), a pantry-style space, also takes inspiration from the wider area of SE1, a location synonymous with good food and high-quality produce.
Transforming the previously transient gallery space, the food, drink and grocery range of products will be curated by The Camden Grocer. With a flagship store in Camden Market’s North Yard and over 30 combined years of experience, the Camden Grocer team will have the very best in food and drink, from top artisan producers, including fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese, charcuterie, and grocery products available. As part of their offering, they will be showcasing the latest range of Great Taste Awards 2020 Three Star winners. In addition to the food and drink offering, is a line-up of specialist retailers:
• In-Tray Plants – with over 75 varieties of houseplant in store, complemented by a range of pots and indoor gardening accessories, Menier Store is the first foray into retail for established RHS Chelsea Flower Show winning plant-scapers, Indoor Garden Design. Their experienced team have filled the exteriors, floors and ceilings of Menier Store with a plethora of gorgeous plant installations.
• Att Pynta – a brand bringing contemporary, affordable-luxury homewares with a Scandinavian aesthetic.
• HRB Studio – specialists in upcycling and restoring items of vintage furniture, most of which are sourced from individual sellers and charity organisations. With a keen eye for interior design trends, the studio’s aim is to recycle preloved items and make them desirable in the current interior design world.
• Fleming Fine Antiques – a trusted buyer and seller of antiques, supplying a range of small decorative items, collectables, furniture (from a range of styles and periods) and design classics.
Bringing together this mix collaboration of premium, artisan brands is Southwark Square Ltd, a landlord that maximises the potential of beautiful, heritage spaces by connecting them with creators, curators and crafters, harking back to a bygone era and the golden age of department stores.
Managing Director at Southwark Square Ltd, Sophie Stade Cohn said: “Setting up the Menier Store was about quickly re-appropriating empty space and creating a conducive, relaxed and unique shopping experience in the glorious Menier Chocolate Factory for Southwark residents and visitors. We wanted the store to reflect the trends that have grown during the last few months with a focus on things to enjoy in your home – really good food, house plants and homewares. We also wanted to give some young brands the opportunity to have their first physical presence in a shop and are excited to see the brands we have collaborated with grow and change over the coming months in our pop-up department store.”
Camden Grocer Co-Founder, Matthew Bunch said: “Considering the incredibly challenging conditions facing our business through COVID, we’re delighted to have the opportunity to work with Southwark Square, bringing the spirit, enthusiasm and expertise of The Camden Grocer to the iconic Menier Chocolate factory. We’re confident that the combination of a considered range of food, drink and lifestyle products, and the enchanting environment of the building, create a truly winning, unique and exciting new retail environment for SE1.”
