JUNO BIRCH IS SKILLED AT ENGAGING THE CROWD AND HER CHARISMA MAKES HER EASY TO WATCH

Juno Birch, the self-proclaimed glamorous alien from outer space, and social media sensation delivers a unique experience on stage, blending her quirky, otherworldly persona with a distinctly northern British edge. As a gal from t’north…west midlands (and always feeling like an alien) I can relate! Her character feels like a mix of alien chic and a northern housewife who could easily walk down the cobbled streets of a soap opera, if not for her striking blue skin. Actually, going by recent Corries storylines, maybe with the blue skin.. This mash-up of eccentric alien and northern wit is definitely engaging and has a charm that resonates with the audience, myself included. As a trans woman, Juno’s Alien persona is also a clever reflection of her trans experience, something which she shares with her audience throughout the show, but the alien ‘persona’ doesn’t remain at the forefront of the show for long which I feel is a bit of a lost trick as humans certainly have a lot of quirks to comment on. 

Juno’s energy as a performer is undeniable; she is skilled at engaging the crowd, certainly a skill earned in front of the fierce and fabulous queer drag audiences that she initially started with , and her charisma makes her easy to watch. The humour throughout the show is primarily light-hearted, with most moments eliciting chuckles rather than belly laughs. That being said, there are a few exceptional moments where Juno’s comedic timing and unique perspective truly shine. The personal anecdotes and absurd scenarios she brings to life add an entertaining layer to her performance. One memorable highlight was her tap-dancing dolphin joke, which was unexpected and perfectly absurd in the best way.

Another standout moment was a musical number with her “daughter” ‘Judith;—a scene that completely captured the ridiculous, campy energy that makes Juno Birch such a compelling character. This part of the show had the audience in stitches and was definitely one of the best-received segments of the night, showcasing her ability to balance silliness with genuine comedic timing.

Overall, it’s a fun, quirky evening for fans of offbeat humour and personality-driven comedy. I’m curious and excited to see how Juno’s act will develop in the future and look forward to seeing her continue to grow as both a performer and comedian. I’ll definitely be back for another show!
