The Wigmore Summer Terrace & Garden Outdoor Dining Space Coming To London
THE ULTIMATE CITY GARDEN COMPLETE WITH BEAUTIFUL WOODEN BENCHES, A NEWLY ERECTED PERGOLA AND AN OUTDOOR BAR AREA
Opening on the 12 April at The Langham, London will be The Wigmore Summer Terrace & Garden, a beautiful outdoor dining area from the popular British tavern on Regent Street.
Reopening from 12th April, the Great British pub will be taking its first orders of the year in the great outdoors. The terrace from The Wigmore has been connected with the hotel’s courtyard garden area to form one large 75 capacity dining space, ideal for long lunches and leisurely drinks in the summer sunshine.
The space has been transformed into the ultimate city garden, complete with beautiful wooden benches and a newly erected pergola, adorned with climbing vines and fresh greenery. There will be other flowers and foliage from plants and hanging baskets, an outdoor bar area serving refreshing Hendricks G&Ts and cold beers on tap and should the British weather take a turn for the worst – heat lamps and covered areas to escape the rain.
As the new Summer Terrace & Garden will be an extension of The Wigmore, the food offering will include well-loved classics as well some new specials, all overseen by Michel Roux Jr. Guests can tuck into favourites such as the XXL Stovetop three cheese & mustard toastie (12.50) and the instantly recognisable, Masala spiced scotch egg with dahl relish (£6.25) or try new dishes including a luxurious Buttered lobster roll, served with buttermilk onion rings (£22.50).
The drinks list will leave guests spoilt for choice! Nothing screams summer quite like a glass of ice-cold rosé and as the saying goes: go big or go home. Château La Gordonne Provence Rosé will be served by the glass, bottle, magnum and even a jeroboam – what better way to catch up on all those missed celebrations? Alternatively, guests can choose from the selection of refreshing summer cocktails. For the G&T lovers, there is London Calling – Hendrick’s Gin shaken with fino sherry, lemon juice and orange bitters. Then there is the Rogue Life – Regal Rogue red vermouth & London Essence Jasmine and White Peach. Or for those real scorchers we’re all hoping will make an appearance in 2021, an ice-cold Froze will be just the ticket. Served from a retro slushie machine, Bar Manager Anna Sebastian has created a blend of Reyka vodka, discarded vermouth, Chase rose and fresh strawberries, all blitzed down with ice. There is also a brilliant selection of lower alcohol options available including Shandy Shack Shandies and Served Hard Seltzers.
