English Wine has been on a meteoric trajectory over the last decade, and Ridgeview has been a pioneering force in the scene. Founded in 1995, Ridgeview was one of the first wineries to be devoted to the production of English sparkling wine.
Situated in Sussex on the South Downs of England, the winery is operated by the second generation of the Roberts family. Ridgeview wines have been served at four Buckingham Palace State Banquets and exported to 17 countries around the globe, making it the perfect choice not just throughout English Wine Week, but for celebrating life at every opportunity all year round. Ridgeview is the current title holder of ‘International Winemaker of the Year’ in the International Wine and Spirit Competition, making history for English wine.
Throughout English Wine Week from 25th May until 2nd of June, the Ridgeview team will be inspiring and educating dedicated wine lovers and newcomers alike to the beautiful English Sparkling Wines that are coming out of the UK. The Bank Holiday Weekend sees Ridgeview take over the terrace garden at the boutique Mare St Market in Hackney East London, pouring from midday until 7pm on the 25th, 26th and 27th May. Throughout the weekend, guests will be able to purchase a flute of Ridgeview’s best-loved wines – Bloomsbury, Fitzrovia Rosé and Blanc de Noirs, with each fizz offering available to buy with a specially paired food dish from the newly-opened BBQ.
Elsewhere in London, Simpson’s In The Strand will be showcasing Ridgeview’s top tier wines – Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs and Rose de Noirs – by the glass just for the week with special pairings, while Wrights Bros will be serving Bloomsbury by the glass with bespoke pairings throughout the weekend. Ridgeview will be welcoming visitors to its South Downs vineyard and winery, where guests can enjoy guided tours of the vineyard and learn the processes undertaken by, or kick back in the wine garden with a glass of bubbly and a beautiful hamper crammed with the region’s finest charcuterie and cheeses.
Ridgeview is a truly family company and is run by CEO Tamara Roberts and her brother, Head Winemaker Simon Roberts, whose parents set up the brand 20 years ago. With Tamara overseeing production and growth of Ridgeview both domestically and internationally, and Simon heading up the Winemaking team, now producing a quarter of a million bottles of English sparkling wine, they have won countless industry awards between them. Both are expert spokespeople for English Wine scene and well known and respected within the industry.

Tamara Roberts believes “English Wine Week is the ideal opportunity to celebrate our incredible, global award-winning wines, providing consumers with the opportunity to enjoy tastings and events and learn more about them. Ridgeview is the perfect way to celebrate all of life’s special occasions which could be as simple as catching up with friends or family in one of the fantastic venues mentioned above, sharing at home or with us at the vineyard in Ditchling, Sussex”
Throughout English Wine Week, Ridgeview will be available by the glass at Burger and Lobster, Kerridge’s Bar & Grill at The Corinthia and all Barworks venues, as well as Browns and The Doyle Collection hotels. In Sussex, Exclusive Hotels and Venues will be pairing Ridgeview limited release wines with a dish across the group, Hotel du Vin Brighton will be hosting a special Ridgeview Riedel dinner and Michael Bremner’s restaurants, Murmur and 64 Degrees in Brighton will be pairing Ridgeview Blanc de Blancs with a dish made using Ridgeview’s Chardonnay, as well as offering Ridgeview Blanc de Noirs and Bloomsbury by-the-glass at a special week-only price.
