Open Call To London Artist For BODYWORLDS Death Drawing

SUPPORTING THE LOCAL ARTS COMMUNITY WITH A MESMERISING FUSION OF ART AND SCIENCE

Artists are invited to come and capture the visuals of BODY WORLDS’ famous Plastinated bodies

BODY WORLDS are putting out an open call to London’s most talented life drawing artists, amateur and professionals alike, to take part in the museum’s first ‘death drawing’ sessions.

Human anatomy has long been a fascinating subject for artists, and at BODY WORLDS flagship museum in London art and science are beautifully intertwined in a celebration of the human body and all its wonderful intricacies. To celebrate this fusion, the museum is offering artists the chance to study the human body in a completely unique and unprecedented way.

On the first Friday of every month, a group of maximum twelve artists will be given complimentary access to the museum and the opportunity to study and capture the human form using Gunther von Hagens’ famous Plastinated human bodies. As studying human anatomy for artists can be as simple as learning about proportions, or as complex as mastering an understanding of the skeletal, muscular and surface structure of the human body, BODY WORLDS London is the perfect place to perfect their skills.

With over 200 Plastinated body parts and human bodies across three floors, the exhibits offer a unique look under the skin, exploring different systems around the human body in a visually stunning form.

The twelve artists will be chosen through an online application process; BODY WORLDS are inviting applicants to send in a digital portfolio of their work, and successful candidates will receive an invitation via email.
