An online escape room is claiming to have one of the best virtual offerings available, providing an immersive experience for its customers using West End actors and has been named one of the best online escape rooms to try from home, all for just £10pp. Agent Venture has three different missions available for participants to enjoy over the video conferencing platform Zoom, bringing the thrills and spills of its challenges to your living rooms.
At the start of the first UK lockdown, Agent Venture wanted to create a way for families and friends to spend time together and keep their small team of actors employed throughout the pandemic.
Agent Venture was born out of the need for a more modern interactive experience. Its creators decided to adapt the entire operation to work better with the technology available. The new experience was designed from the ground up to be played online over a video call with up to four to five players per session.
Agent Venture are also prioritising hiring actors who are out of work during the pandemic to not only support them but provide a fully immersive experience for escapees
Agent Venture offers three different missions for customers to participate, each lasting between 60 minutes to 80 minutes. Each group is led by one voice actor who plays multiple characters while narrating the story to the players and taking them through the challenges in the mission. Players assume a role at the start of the game and are given access to visual aids in the form of blueprints, maps and secret messages on an online drive to fully immerse them within the narrative. Each player is given different pieces of information and has to work together to solve the puzzle and complete the mission.
With tickets selling for £10 per person, the team behind Agent Venture sees the online escape room as an affordable option for people looking to do something different, whether it be shaking up the weekly video call with the family or looking for a fun activity to do in the next virtual corporate party.
The online experience has seen a boost in popularity in recent months and as a result have added 11 actors to their roster since the start of the lockdown, bringing it up to a total of 15 highly skilled voice actors. As the demand continues to grow, especially for corporate bookings in the lead up to Christmas, it is very likely that this number will only increase in coming weeks. To add to its success as one of the top online escape rooms in the UK, Agent Venture has been given an OnComm Award by the OffWestEnd organisation as well as nominated for the Top Escape Rooms Project Enthusiasts’ Choice Awards in which all three of its missions are ranked in the top 25 places.
