Dog Day is the perfect opportunity to head to one of London’s favourite rooftops, accompanied by friends, family and most importantly… a dog! Skylight is home to three floors of bars, street food, games and entertainment and on the penultimate Sunday of the month, will be mixing up special doggy cocktails and offering treats a-plenty for each four-legged friend. Skylight will also be holding an Instagram competition for ‘best photo of a dog at Skylight’ with prizes to be won.
Dog Day cocktails will include the Frenchie 75, Paw-n star Martini and the Who’s A Good Boy – a percentage of proceeds made from each special Dog Day cocktail will go to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
Treats will be supplied healthy and 100% natural dog food companies Soopa Pets and Devon based dog-lovers Forthglade, health food pioneers Lecker Bites as well as nutritious treats from Laughing Dog.
Skylight Rooftop at Tobacco Dock is famous for its panoramic and uninterrupted views across the city’s skyline. Its unique urban lawn game and bar offering means that it has become one of London’s favourite summer hot spots.
Skylight’s bars will feature collection buckets to help raise money for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Battersea is here for every dog and cat and has been since 1860. Since it was founded 159 years ago, Battersea has rescued, reunited and rehomed over 3.1 million dogs and cats. Battersea believe that every dog and cat deserves the best, that’s why they aim to never turn away a dog or cat in need.
In 2018, Battersea helped almost 7,000 dogs and cats and cares for an average of 250 dogs and 120 cats across its three centres at any one time. There is no time limit on how long an animal can stay at Battersea, but the average stay for a dog is 35 days and 23 days for a cat. In addition to the site in South West London, Battersea also has two other centres based at Old Windsor, Berkshire and Brands Hatch, Kent.
