Family Weekend, Sadler’s Wells’ annual two-day festival of family friendly events, returns on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 April 2019 featuring the UK premiere of Aracaladanza’s Play on the Sadler’s Wells stage.

Created for all of the family to enjoy, Play, explores the themes of freedom and fun through a poetic universe of childhood memories which incorporates puppets, projections, balloons and fantastical costumes.

The multi award-winning company, Aracaladanza, has been an indispensable part of the Spanish art scene since 1995, famous for choreographer Enrique Cabera’s imaginative concepts created for family audiences.

The company has been a regular part of the Sadler’s Wells Family Weekend since 2008.

The two-day festival adds to the wealth of family dance shows on offer in spring 2019, including: the UK premiere of Cirque Éloize’s Hotel, Yamato with its latest work Passionand the English National Ballet and English National Ballet School returns with another edition from the My First Ballet series; with the world premiere of Sleeping Beauty.

Family Weekend sees the theatre transformed into a magical space for children and families with an array of free fun, games, crafts and activities taking place before and after the show.

Age guidance: 4+

Foyer activities from 1pm to 4:30pm on Friday and 10am to 5pm on Saturday
