360 ALLSTARS Review – London Wonderground
Underbelly’s famous upside-down purple cow is making its way to Earls Court this summer for London Wonderground. London Wonderground is the new summer playground with something to entertain all of the family. Based on the former Earls Court 2 Exhibition Centre site London Wonderground will run from 15th July to 26th September. Showcasing comedy, theatre and entertainment shows London Wonderground also hosts a city beach, vintage rides and street food and bars. And summer is bursting into life with the supercharged urban circus show 360 ALLSTARS.
360 ALLSTARS explores all forms of rotation, connecting the streets with the elite to deliver a supercharged urban circus. Said to be an adrenaline fuelled performance that will leave the audience dizzy with excitement. The show replaces the classic acrobats and jugglers with breakdancing, basketball freestyling and a BMX rider. 360 ALLSTARS features a cast of elite athletes and artists including two champion break-dancers BBoy Chris and BBoy Daz. As well as world champion BMX Flatlander Peter Sore, internationally acclaimed basketball freestyler Trickstar and world renowned cyr wheel artist Josh Curtis.
The show’s soundtrack is brought to you by Ball-Zee, the world champion and three-time UK champion beatboxer. And he is supported in creating the soundtrack by award-winning master percussionist Mikey Sorbello. The actual setup of the show is fairly basic with each act showcasing their talent before a combined finale performance. The acts themselves are very impressive and you can see why they are the experts in their fields. However, it would have been nice to see a woman in the mix rather than just an overload of testosterone.
The artists all brought a lot of energy and excitement to the stage and the tricks were very impressive. But I found that the show length could have been reduced as at times it seemed dragged out. Whilst they tried to pull the different acts together it was essentially just men showing off impressive, enviable skills. Now there is nothing wrong with that, but I do think the show is more suited to a family audience. They were really good at interacting with the audience and getting the kids all hyped up and involved. 360 ALLSTARS is an easy watch, and you could see how much the children in the audience enjoyed themselves.
