GO EAST

The summer of 2017 saw Stratford go for gold once again; Roof East played host to some of the best bowling, batting, golfing and bladin’ action London has ever seen. As winter draws in, trade in your sandcastles for igloos, and your iced-coffee for hot toddies as the Social Fun & Games Club prepares the ice arena in not one, but two venues in London for some serious curling action through the chilly months.

Sliders – bowling’s wonderfully weird winter cousin – is back at Roof East from November 2nd – bigger and better than ever. Due to popular demand, London’s only rooftop curling experience now has six lanes all complete with glowing neon theme (because curling in unflattering light is not OK) and lane-side hosts to deliver hot cocktails and icy libations direct to the lanes, so Sliders can fuel up as they curl for gold…score.
When it all gets too chilly on the ice, guests can warm up in the 80’s neon retro-chic ski lodge bar – the urban answer to a Val D’Isère mountain-top retreat. A flurry of fantastic flairers will be serving up a mountain of indulgent winter warmer cocktails and ski shots (yup – that’s a row of shots lined up on a ski), while our human jukebox Michael ‘Pianoman’ Moore will be making special appearances throughout the season, taking requests to rock the lodge. Retro ski wear encouraged, free entry and open to all – not just Sliders ticket holders.

Ever wondered what it’s like inside a snow globe? Well, wonder no more with the igloo dining dens that line the wintery roof-scape. Warm up those rosy noses with an eskimo kiss with a loved one as you take in the twinkling skyline of London perched upon the 8th floor Stratford summit. Who needs a vista of snow-capped mountains when you’ve got the Olympic park and the world’s finest Capital lit up like a Christmas tree to feast your hungry eyes on? And for the first weekend of the season as fireworks fill the London skies for Guy Fawkes, what better place to view them than from a sky-high rooftop venue.

It’s not just a visual feast igloo dwellers can enjoy – Jimmy’s Lodge is on hand to deliver a mouth watering array of sharing boards* direct to each dining dome. Eskimo wannabes need not step a foot outside their cosy cocoon as chalet waiting staff will be on hand to bring hot toddies and ice cool concoctions to wash down the après-ski feast.
Beyond the igloos, fantastic feasts are on offer for all rooftop revellers from Jimmy’s Lodge and Crazy Pig. Whether it’s a burger oozing with raclette or a ciabatta stuffed with slow cooked hog roast to tuck into while cosied up by outdoor heaters or in the glow of the heated tent, there’s enough to keep even the coolest cat warm up on the roof this winter.

GO WEST

And not to leave our friends over the other side of London out in the cold, our Eastern delights are also heading West this year. QUEENS Skate · Dine · Bowl will play host to West side’s very own Sliders experience on REAL ice – touch us, we’re real. The maiden competition for the curling crown kicks off, alongside ultimate rink-side sustenance from MEATliquor, on October 19th.

SFG Club’s winter playground at altitude and Sliders on REAL ice with a side of teeth sinking meaty marvelousness are set to be the hottest tickets in town as the temperature plummets. Don’t miss out – book now for some serious frosty fun. Curl power.

Social Fun & Games Club officially opens for the hottest winter yet on:
October 19th 2017 at QUEENS Skate · Dine · Bowl
November 2nd 2017 at Roof East, Stratford

Information and tickets for both venues are available from www.sfgclub.com.

Bars at Roof East and QUEENS are open to all – free entry.
