Karve – music paired with food
Karve is a series of pop-ups by friends Trystan-Ross Williams and Tim Thornton. The two first met in 2007 whilst both studying Jazz at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and a decade later have decided to collaborate on the two things they know and love best, music and food.
Trystan graduated and went on to work at some of the UK’s top restaurants including two Michelin- starred Restaurant Sat Bains in Nottingham, Sir Charles Napier in Oxford and is currently the Senior Sous chef at Angela Hartnett’s Michelin-starred Murano in Mayfair. Tim, is currently a multi award- winning jazz bassist, having travelled the world playing alongside some of the world’s most respected jazz musicians. He has also released two albums and continues to perform at the world’s greatest festivals and clubs, including a regular slot at Ronnie Scott’s.
The first of the series will be on Saturday 11th November (6.45pm) at The Pillbox Kitchen in Bethnal Green. There will be an eight-course tasting menu including a drinks pairing, which will reflect Trystan’s passion for low-waste cooking alongside a live melody, which has been specially matched to each course (there will be two breaks). Menu highlights include; Dribbling (Yogurt granita, ice wine vinegar, sage); ‘90’ (potato, truffle); Venisong (Venison, pistachio, cranberry, cocoa) and Corona (Lager, kaffir lime, coriander).
