Some of London’s favourite food vendors & creative performances join the programme alongside The Flaming Lips, Katherine Ryan, Dr. John Cooper Clarke with less than a month to go.

Kaleidoscope is proud to announce even more acts and an all-star line-up of food and drink vendors for the brand new music and arts festival.

  • New acts include the full programme for the Caught by the River’s stage slot, filled with the best in ecological literature, the troupe of cycling actors, Handlebards, and comedian Eshaan Akbar. They join the likes of The Flaming Lips, Dr. John Cooper Clarke, and Katherine Ryan. 
  • Mother Clucker will be serving buttermilk-soaked and twice battered fried chicken, alongside the original mac and cheese vendors Anna Mae’s, with filthy vegan junk food from Biff’s Jack Shack, and that’s just for starters.
  • Providing refreshments are some of the best in the drinks business. With Grenwich based brewers Meantime Brewers as pour partners and connoisseurs of the finest craft beers, Fourpure Brewing Co also on hand. There will be a selection of delicious cocktails available too for after-show refreshments.

Brand new music and arts festival, Kaleidoscope is proud to announce a food and drink line-up that showcases the best in the Capital. Featuring favourites in street food and craft brewing, the offerings are just as diverse as the entertainment.

PERFORMANCE

Kaleidoscope are proud to welcome the writers collective, Caught by the River. Described as a culture clash between art and nature, the  online platform was formed in 2007 as a meeting place for pursuits such as walking, fishing, looking, and thinking. Their extended stage slot features H is for Hawk author Helen Macdonald, in conversation with BBC Radio producer and author Tim Dee – who edited the anthology Ground Work: Writings on People and Place, to which she contributed. There will also be author John Andrews, long-time contributing poets Will Burns and Martha Sprackland and former Hefner frontman Darren Hayman will also be making an appearance to perform songs and talk all things Thankful Village, a project about rural life.

Elsewhere, the eccentric cyclists of Handlebards who carry all their set, props and costume to perform enigmatic, offbeat, portable versions of Shakespeare’s plays across the globe in sustainable fashion. The Edinburgh award-winners will be bringing a brand new compressed version of Twelfth Night just for the festival.

Stand up poetry collective Bang Said the Gun will be crossing poetry with comedy in a unique and cutting-edge concept. Featuring the hilariously eccentric comedian and poet Rob Auton, London-based poets and founders, Daniel Cockrill, and Martin Galton, with help from author and host Laurie Bolger. With poetAndrew Motion calling it “a vortex on energy and enthusiasm” it’s definitely a stage to swing by at the festival.

Finally, funny man Eshaan Akbar who is frequently named one to watch. Since 2014, he has established himself as a performer with serious potential. The winner of the Piccadilly Comedy Club New Comedian of the Year 2016, he presents ‘Prophet Like It’s Hot’ ahead of his Edinburgh appearance. ​

STREET FOOD

After just opening their first shop in Exmouth Market, Mother Clucker have become a staple for London’s dining community with their mouth-watering fried chicken. There is also delicious dishes courtesy of London’s original mac and cheese dealers, Anna Mae‘s, and for the plant-based festival goers, Biff’s Jack Shack has filthy vegan goodness with fried jackfruit for all to enjoy!

Arancina Pizza will also be on hand providing their original pizza alla palla at Ally Pally! There’s also Bow Belly with delicious veggie and vegan treats to make your belly happy. Los Churros Amigos will also be there equipped with fresh churros with the finest Belgian Chocolate. Bandit Street Food are also stopping by with badass BBQ, burgers and wraps to feast on.

Munch on some vegan risotto balls from Arancini Brothers for a guilt-free cheesy goodness, or try some moreish honey-glazed halloumi fries. Carib Catering will be offering jerk and Jamaican delights to enjoy, or try some authentic Mexican street food from Pink Cactus.

if you’re after some sweet treats, wickedly good confections come courtesy of Gamekeeper. Ice Cream Club will also have the finest hand-scooped traditional ice cream, with Waffle Float serving sumptuous Belgian waffles and ice cream. ​




CRAFT BEER & COCKTAILS

Refreshing beverages will come courtesy of some of the capital’s best drinks providers. The finest craft brews come directly from main pour partners, Meantime Brewing. There will also be more delectable crafts from Fourpure Brewing Co. In the mood for a refreshing cocktail? Master mixologists are available at the dedicated cocktail bar for a quick pick-me-up.

Brighton’s own Pin-up Brewing Co offer delicious craft brews too, as Pimm’s will be serving the classic summer refresher. Ska Brewing has magnificent suds straight outta Colorado, as Nordic brewers Lervig Aktiebryggeri will be there armed with rejuvenating brews. ​

Kaleidoscope is a brand new music and arts festival hosted by Alexandra Palace. featuring performances by colourful psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips, Ghostpoet and Mystery Jets alongside mesmerising DJ sets from the likes of The 2 Bears, Norman Jay MBE, Don Letts and more.  Northern punk legend Dr. John Cooper Clarke ​will equipped with a healthy dose of satire, while Katherine Ryan and Mark Watsonwill be delighting with brutally honest observational comedy. There will also be the daredevils from Gorilla Circus showing off their skills alongside many other wonderful acts to dazzle the crowd. Kaleidoscope will create a world where music, performance, theatre and comedy embrace in a collision of beautiful noise, brilliant ideas and brazen colour.
